For pipeline CP, the current ISO edition is ISO 15589-1:2026. It covers surveys, design, materials, equipment, installation, commissioning, operation, inspection and maintenance for cathodic protection of on-land pipeline transportation systems.

Do not select an anode solely from a catalogue current rating. The CP system should be designed from the protected surface area, coating condition, electrolyte characteristics, electrical continuity/isolation, current demand, anode-bed arrangement and applicable project criteria.
