Applications
Application examples for cathodic protection materials and systems. Final design, current demand and anode selection must be established from project conditions.
Real-World Application Context
The original OuChuang website presents these application environments with photographs. The same imagery is retained here for continuity.

Pipeline Cathodic Protection
Buried steel pipelines carrying water, petroleum products, natural gas and other services can require external corrosion control using coatings together with CP where appropriate.
Tank Cathodic Protection
CP may be applied to suitable tank bottoms and other structures. Flexible anodes can be considered where geometry and current distribution make them suitable.
Offshore Platforms
Marine steel structures require careful anode selection and system design for seawater exposure, coating condition and current demand.
Docks, Piers & Jetties
Steel piles and other marine structures can be protected with properly designed galvanic or impressed-current systems.
Bridge Cathodic Protection
Selected reinforced or steel bridge components may use CP systems; the protection method depends on the structure and corrosion mechanism.
Power & Industrial Plants
CP can be used on suitable buried, immersed or process-related steel structures where the environment and electrical continuity permit effective protection.
Application is project-specific
The same anode product should not be assumed to suit every installation. Important inputs include structure geometry, coating condition, electrolyte resistivity, temperature, continuity, current requirement, design life and allowable interference.
